Welcome to Local Farmer Magazine

A magazine made for the farms of Cumbria, Northumberland & South Scotland, and posted free to your door.

Every issue brings together the machinery, services and businesses that keep this region's farms running, from new and used tractors to livestock equipment, land agents, vets, insurance and everything in between. No subscription, no login, no searching — just a magazine that lands on the farm, ready to read when you've got five minutes to sit down with it.

Local Farmer is built for this region, by people who know it. We're not a national title with a couple of pages tacked on for the North — every advertiser, every listing, every page is chosen because it's relevant to farms right here.

what we do

Local Farmer connects the farming community of Cumbria, Northumberland and South Scotland with the businesses that serve it.

We publish a free, printed magazine covering agricultural machinery — new and used — alongside the full range of services farms rely on: livestock and dairy equipment, buildings and land, professional and financial services, labour, training, vehicles, and more.

Every issue is posted directly to farms across the region, so it reaches the people who actually need it, without anyone having to go looking for it.

We work with local and national businesses to bring their machinery, services and offers directly to farmers' kitchen tables — and we give farmers a genuinely useful classifieds section to buy and sell machinery of their own.

Our aim is simple: make it easier for farmers to find what they need, and easier for the businesses that serve farming to be found.

Why it's great!

What are the benefits of Local Farmer magazine?

  • It comes to you — no searching required

No websites to browse, no apps to download. Local Farmer arrives at the farm, so the machinery, services and offers you need are already in your hands.
  • Read it at your own pace

Keep it in the tractor cab, leave it on the kitchen table, take it in for a cup of tea at the auction mart café. A printed magazine fits around your day — not the other way round.
  • Genuinely local, genuinely relevant

Every advertiser and every listing is chosen because it matters to farms in Cumbria and South Scotland. No wading through pages of content aimed at farms three hundred miles away.
  • It supports the local farming economy

Local Farmer is funded entirely by advertisers who want to reach this region's farms — which means it costs you nothing, while keeping money and trade moving between local farms and local businesses.
